KARACHI: Three more seeded players — a man and two women — crashed out in the second round of the eighth DG Rangers Sindh National Squash Championship at the Ranger’s Jahangir Khan squash complex on Wednesday.

Khwaja Adil Maqsood, a Dubai-based Pakistani and sixth seed, retired hurt while playing Zahir Shah of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa owing to a hamstring problem.

Zahir won 6-11, 11-5, 11-5 to earn a place in last eight.

Similarly, two local players — third seed Zahab Khan and sixth seed Anam Aziz — met their fate. Madina Zafar stunned the former 12-10, 11-8, 11-3 while Riffat Khan shocked the latter 11-9, 11-7, 11-8.

Other seeded players cruised into the last eight registering victories over their respective opponents.

The quarter-finals will be played on Thursday.
