NEW DELHI: About 5,000 students from the School of Open Learning (SOL) were caught indulging in unfair means during their annual exam this year by Flying Squad of Delhi University. The number is significantly high this year, which according to sources is due to strict invigilation. The exams were conducted in May and over 3.5 lakh students had appeared for the exams.
Unfair means, said DU sources, are particularly high in the centres of private schools. However, the squad, under Institute of Lifelong Learning director, Ramesh Gautam, managed to catch a large number of students. “We caught many students in private school centres. Only the exam branch can confirm the exact number,” he said.
The students caught are now being heard by the exam branch. Satish Kumar, officer on special duty, examination branch, DU, could not be contacted.
