MANGALURU: Lokkanahalli in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district recorded maximum rainfall of 5 mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on December 24. Karwar hobli in Karwar taluk of Uttara Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 38.6°C on December 23 at 2.15pm. Halburga hobli in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 4.6°C at 6.15am on December 24.

Maximum temperature changed little over the state. Minimum temperature rose at few places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 56% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 6% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as negligible. Very light rain was recorded in 21 gram panchayats and no rain in remaining 1,921 GPs.
Karnataka for period from December 18 to December 24 recorded deficit rainfall of 75%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.6mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 0.2mm.
For 24 hours period ending 8.30am on December 24, four geographical regions received 0 mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.2mm, a deficit of 90%.
