Transport specialists Collett & Sons has assisted the relocation of the world’s fastest car, Thrust SSC, and its predecessor Thrust 2, to a new museum gallery.

Thrust SSC broke the world land speed record in 1997 when it recorded at speed of 763mph in the Black Rock Desert, and has since been on show at the Coventry Transport Museum in the UK -- along with Thrust 2, which set the previous speed record in 1983.

The two vehicles were relocated to the museum's new Biffa Award Land Speed Record Gallery. Principal contractors J Tomlinson and project managers MFH Construction Projects hired the Collett Heavy Lift team to move the 10t, 54ft-long Thrust SSC and Thrust 2, using a low-loader followed by a seven-axle trailer.

The Thrust SSC car, owner of the world land speed record, was moved to a new gallery by Collett & Sons.
