Kim Dickens takes lead in ‘Dead’ spinoff ‘Cobalt’

“The Walking Dead” spinoff has found its leading lady.

Kim Dickens has been cast opposite Cliff Curtis in “Cobalt,” which will be set in LA at the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse featured on “TWD.”

Dickens, last seen as Det. Rhonda Boney in “Gone Girl,” will play Nancy Tomkins, a guidance counselor dating teacher Sean Cabrera (Curtis) when the zombies start attacking.

Dickens co-starred on HBO’s “Deadwood” and “Treme” and also appeared on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” (among many other TV roles).

Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey will play Nancy’s son and daughter.

“Cobalt” is expected to air sometime next year, but there’s no premiere date yet.
