KOLKATA: The state government is hosting Poush Utsav in two venues in the city this year. The festival will start from December 24 and will be on till December 31.
The state information and cultural affairs department will host the festival at Prinsep Ghat and Mohor Kunja.

Atri Bhattacharya said that the main focus of the festival was to make the youths aware of the state’s rich cultural heritage.
Keeping this in mind, there will be a series of cultural programmes in both the venues of the Poush Utsav.
Through hosting the festival at Prinsep Ghat and Mohor Kunja, the state government also wants to popularize the two open-air venues.

Begum Akhtar on December 26 at Prinsep Ghat. Accordingly, the government has invited ghazal singers
Rita Ganguly and
Prabhati Mukherjee to perform at Prinsep Ghat on the occasion.
Also, more than 500 folk artists will take part in the festival. Others who have been invited to perform in the festival include singers Indrani Sen, Srabani Sen, Raghab Chattopadhyay, Rupankar Bagchi and Shantanu Roy Chowdhury.
