Lip and cheek stains are the best way to emulate naturally-blushed cheeks. We got makeup artist Elton Fernandez to demonstrate a fuss-free day look with stained cheeks and lips, paired with a gorgeously bouncy do.

Step 1 - Cleanse and moisturise your skin for a healthy glow, and prep it with a BB cream. If required, use a concealer to hide spots, dark circles and blemishes. Skip the compact or powder as this is a dewy look.

Step 2 - Line your eyes with an eye pencil as close to the lash line as you can get. Smudge this with a brush to soften the look. Follow this up with an eyelash curler and loads of volumising mascara.

Step 3 - There are many stains available in the market, make sure to choose one that works best for
you. We’ve used a rose/red-tinted hue that complements most skin tones. Smile a little, and apply the stain with a brush or use your fingertips on the apples of your cheeks. Use sparingly. Next, use a foundation on top to tone it up a bit and make it look more natural.

Step 4 - Dab some stain on your lips. Make sure to put some on the inner parts of the lips as well, as this needs to have an ombre effect (shaded from light to dark). Clean out the sides and correct
mistakes, if any, with a concealer.

Step 5 - For the hair, use two large Velcros after dividing it two chunky sections at the crown. This works best on pre-washed and blow-dried hair. Use a mouldable hairspray on the two sections before using the rollers.

Step 6 - Lastly, remove the Velcros and apply a texturising sea salt spray for some volume and bounce. Scrunch hair and part it to the side of your choice. Set it with a mild holding spray.
