Lights, carols, mince pies and Xmas fun for Carmel Convent

For Carmel Convent, BHEL celebrations were in full swing as entire auditorium reverberated with Christmas carols, ushering in the festival. Chief guest Fr James, director of Nav Jyoti social work center, Bhopal gave the message of benevolence.

BHOPAL: For Carmel Convent, BHEL celebrations were in full swing as entire auditorium reverberated with Christmas carols, ushering in the festival. Chief guest Fr James, director of Nav Jyoti social work center, Bhopal gave the message of benevolence. Audience was mesmerized by prayer service of class IX-C students followed by unique shadow dance and prayer dance depicting birth of Jesus.
Principal Sr Pavithra distributed prizes to young achievers of school in different fields.
St Joseph’s Convent celebrated Christmas with students praying for global peace. Christmas carols by the SJC choir was followed by a skit on life of Mother Mary and Father Joseph. A jolly Santa Claus distributed toffees to children. Principal Sr Lilly conveyed her greetings to all.
Sportiva-2014, annual sports meet at Carmel Convent, Ratanpur was dedicated to St Chavara and St Euphrasia recently. Special DG railways Maithli Sharan Gupta was the chief guest while Sr Noel, provincial superior of Mt Carmel Province was the guest of honour. Principal Sr Carmela was also present. Highlights of the day were reverberating tune played by school choir, resplendent PT displays ranging from aerobic gymnastics with hula hoop, yoga, taekwondo etc. Vote of thanks was proposed by head girl Ankita Chouhan.
St Joseph’s Co-ed, Arera Colony celebrated Christmas on Tuesday with prayer dance in Telegu followed by singing of Carol songs like ‘Ray of Hope’ and ‘O Holy Night’. A skit followed on giving gifts to destitute children by Santa Claus called ‘Uphaar.’ Vicar general of Bhopal Archdiocese Fr Mathew was the chief guest.
Campion School celebrated Christmas with tiny tots of primary section who staged a skit showing birth of Jesus and three virtues— joy, love and peace. Senior section held its 50th annual sports meet which saw an impressive march past and a host of sports events in four categories. Chief guest principal Fr Athnus Lakra distributed prizes to winners.
16th inter-school carol singing competition was won by St Joseph’s Co-ed and St Paul Co-ed in junior and senior categories. The competition was held at St Theresa’s Girls School. Other winners were DPS, Kolar and St Montfort in junior and Carmel Convent, BHEL and St Xavier’s in senior category. Around 20 groups from various schools of Bhopal, Sehore and Vidisha participated. Chief guest Fr Kurien Kachapally, provincial of CMI and guest of honour rchbishop Bhopal diocese Leo Cornelio gave away the prizes.

Holy Family Convent celebrated the ‘do and learn’ program for tiny tots of Mother Mariam Thresia kindergarten wing as a part of its silver jubilee celebrations. Chief guest, private secretary to governor, Thomas Joseph, principal Sr Rosiline Jose and in charge of KG wing Sr Alphy Maria were present.
Sagar Public School (SPS) beat The Sanskaar Valley School by 53-5 to clinch the mega inter-school mini-micro basketball tournament organised by IES Public School recently. Chief guest deputy director, SAI Bhopal, Venkatesh Reddy, principal APS Seema Dwivedi and chairman IES group BS Yadav were present. Player of the tournament was Aryan from SPS.
Delhi Public School (DPS), Neelbad tiny toddlers celebrated the event ‘coffee noon with ma and pa’ on December 20. This year’s theme was Goa, which came alive with Vasco Da Gama and eye-catching décor- swaying palms, white sands and sparkling waters. Christmas cheer was depicted through a beautifully presented tableau ‘Christmas Carnival.’
