Vasundhara Raje inaugurates Reva Project, new thermal power station

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today inaugurated Reva Drinking Project (RDP) aimed at providing potable water to villages and hutments at Kalyakheri village in Jhalawar district here.

Raje inaugurated the pump station set up by the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) which is built at budget of about Rs 66.29 crore, according to an official release.

The project, set up on the bank of Reva river, will provide potable water to 40,000 people in 49 villages and 12 dhanis or hutments.

Raje claimed the state would have an all round development in the next five years, and asked the elected MLAs to adopt an ideal village in their constituencies for its welfare.

“Zila Panchayat Sandarbh Kendra” (District Panchayat Reference Centre) will be built at a cost of Rs two crore, and “Khand Panchayat Sandarbh Kendra (Sub-Panchayat Reference Centre)” will be built at a cost of Rs.10 lakh in Panchayat Samiti headquarters, Raje announced.

On her two-day visit to the Jhalawar district, CM also held public session to listen to address grievances.

Raje said that 24 hours call centres will be set up in all cities to redress the public grievances on energy.

The first call centres would be functional from Jhalawar and Baran districts from January 1 next year, Raje said.

Mobile team of power workmen will be available round the clock in all cities to make repair power failures or replace equipments including transformers in stipulated time frame, she said.

The fourth unit will produce 60 lakh units of power every day, and CTPS’ power capacity would be 1000 MW, she said.

Third and fourth unit construction cost was estimated at Rs 3,033 crore, according to an official spokesman.
