Mirpur District Court on Tuesday awarded two target killers with capital punishment while two others with 14 years rigorous imprisonment each and one accused with seven-year imprisonment in Cha Cha Ali Muhammad Advocate’s murder case.
District & Sessions Judge Qazi convicted the five accused. The bench comprising District & Sessions Judge Munir Hussain and Mr. Qazi Rasheed Gull convicted Muhammad Ashfaq and Muhamamd Yasin, residents of Shikarpur (Sindh).
Moreover, the learned court also convicted three other accused in the same murder case awarding  14 years rigorous imprisonment to Raja Urfan Kiyani of Dadayal and Suleman Somroo of Shikarpur and Raja Muhamamd Naeem of Dadayal for facilitating and abetting the offense of killing the lawyer. Chaudhry Ali Muhammad Advocate famously known as Cha Cha Ali Muhammad Advocate was former advocate general of AJK and former law minister.
Legal expert Ch Khalid Rasheed Advocate and Muhamamd Owais Bhatti Advocate appeared as counsels on behalf of the prosecution. Raja Inamullah Advocate and Abdul Hameed Advocate appeared as counsels on behalf of the accused.
