Acclaimed director and screenplay-writer, Dibakar Banerjee, who was the man behind
Khosla ka Ghosla and
Love, Sex aur Dhoka, was in the city recently for the motion poster launch of his next film
Detective Byomkesh Bakshi. The movie features Sushant Singh Rajput, in the role of the namesake character, and Swastika Mukherjee as Anguri.
The plotline of the film is set in Calcutta of 1943, when it faced an onslaught of Japanese air-raids.
Both, Sushant and Dibakar were present at the promotional event. He (Sushant) is an epitome of gentlemanliness and he will be able to do justice to the image of our beloved Byomkesh, said Dibakar.
After a slew of
Byomkesh films in Tollywood, the last of which released only last week, this is the first time the national audience will get to see the legendary Bengali detective, albeit a fictional character, on the big screen.
