Deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah has said that Shilparamam crafts village at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore, would soon come up in Hanamkonda.
Inaugurating the Octave-2014, a two-day youth festival organised by the South Zone Cultural Centre here, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, he said the State government has been promoting art and culture and as part of which a Kalakshetram was proposed to be built at Indira Park in Hyderabad.
Mr Mahmood Ali favoured cultural exchange between States to promote and strengthen national integration. Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation as it represents shared attitudes and values, he said. District Collector G Kishan said India commands good respect across the world for its diversity. Artistes from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim states presented their local art forms. The celebrations concluded on Monday.
