Trailer watch: Big B, Farhan in Nambiar's action thriller Wazir

The trailer of Bejoy Nambiar’s next film Wazir released with Aamir Khan’s PK this Friday. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles, the film also features Aditi Rao Hydari.

Reportedly, Bachchan plays the role of a chess grandmaster in the film. In the trailer, Bachchan is seen in a wheelchair and his legs appear to be amputated. Akhtar plays the role of a Anti Terrorist Squad officer, which is presumably why he has a moustache. The actor who was last seen in Shaadi Ke Side Effects, is seen in a much leaner avatar.

Chess is clearly an important part of Wazir. Bachchan and Akhtar’s characters are seen playing a game that is clearly a metaphor for the mind games that make up the films. There appear to be terrorist attacks, blasts, crazy chases and innocent people being trapped in these stratagems. The film is an action thriller and while shooting for the film, Akhtar had injured himself quite badly and could not move his hand .

Wazir is the first time Akhtar and Bachchan are acting together in a film thougg Akhtar had previously directed Big B in his film, Lakshya.

Talking about working with Bachchan, Akhtar said, “It feels great to be working with someone whom I have admired throughout my life.” This is Bachchan’s second film with producer and director Vidhu Vinod Chopra after Eklavya. Chopra has written the script for Wazir along with Abhijat Joshi. Wazir has been directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the maker of Shaitan, who has also made flops like Pizza and David in last few years.

Wazir is slated to release on 6 March, 2015.
