Man shot in possible case of mistaken identity

GARDAI are investigating whether the shooting of a man in Dublin last night was a case of mistaken identity.

James Curtis (25) was shot once in the leg in the Melrose Avenue area of Clondalkin, west Dublin, at around 9pm.

Witnesses have told gardai there were two men involved in the attack and that someone was heard shouting "that's not him" as the two men fled.

Mr Curtis was taken to hospital but his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
