Hariharan hots up chilly evening at Motijheel

Despite low temperature on Sunday afternoon, a large number of people was seen on the fourth day of Brand Kanpur at Motijheel ground. They were seen enjoying and feasting on hot and spicy delicacies.
The main highlight was a concert by famous Bollywood singer Hariharan. The artificial stadium like structure erected in the ground remained jam-packed throughout the evening.Amid flickering lights and high amplitude music, the crowed of youngsters and elderly were seen enjoying the event in cold winter evening. The versatile singer warmed up the atmosphere with his hit numbers from the movies like Roja. “Hariharan has a very soothing voice. He can sing songs of all genres. It is a memorable experience to hear him,” a d fan said.
The cultural events started with mesmerizing vandana by Saumya Gupta. It was followed by a dance performance by children of a school for deaf and dumb. The dance performance by these kids was appreciated by the audience. Ballet dance by Gauri Pathak and babla ‘vadan’ by Shubham Shorya Vardhan were also applauded.
The expo witnessed a huge footfall. Most of the people were seen enjoying with family and friends. There were some who seemed to be disappointed by the change in the pattern of the event. “Till last year, in Kanpur Mahotsav, we used to have a variety of handicraft and handloom products. This year, it’s only about small entrepreneurs. There isn’t anything unique here this time,” a visitor said.
