Youth, driving on the ‘wrong side of road’, is crushed to death at 3 am

The driver of the truck, Dhamni Lal, was arrested on the spot and a case has since been registered against him.

“The truck was going towards Karol Bagh from Dhaula Kuan. The driver told us that Sachin’s car was coming fast from the opposite side on the same carriageway. He said Sachin tried to pass from his left and hit the right side of the truck. He said that first he could not see the car approaching on the wrong side and when he saw it, it was too close to avoid. The impact was such that the car was completely crushed,” police said.

Passers-by made a PCR call. It took the police more than 15 minutes to pull Sachin out of the mangled car. He was rushed to the hospital but declared dead on arrival.

“It appears that Sachin was at fault as he was driving on the wrong carriageway. We have, however, registered a case and investigation is on,” a police officer said.
