What is Sattvik fair?
Sattvik fair is brain child of IIMA professor Dr. Anil Gupta. It is organized every year at IIMA new campus in December. Main attraction of this fair is stalls that offer organic, desi varieties of food – not just from the corners of Gujarat, but also from various parts of the country. Say for example, this year Sattvik offers traditional food from Sikkim, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan among other places. As the fair is organized in Ahmedabad, Gujarat it is obviously strictly a vegetarian food fair. In the middle part of the fair one can find organic food product bazar operated by farmers. Most of the people enjoy this fair, as they find completely new varieties of food items here. Also, they can buy authentic desi/organic products right from their producers. Many participants wait for this fair and prepare special innovative dishes to cater in this fair. On the sidelines of this main event, many other smaller activities also take place. Desi flash mob, kathputli show, bhavai group, competitions for children, traditional food items competition, exhibition of innovative products developed by desi innovators are some of such activities.
