1)  ANDY SMITH (L’EQUIPE) – Neatly places a free kick from the edge of the box neatly placed into the top left hand corner leaving the goalkeeper with no chance

2) ELLIOT BLOOM (AC MILL HILL) – Picked up the ball 40 yards out and unleashed a stunning strike which looped over the goalkeeper

3) ELLIOTT MOSLAWY (NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A) – picked up the ball on the left touchline, beat his full-back, nutmegged the centre-back, before drilling a right footed shot into the top corner from the edge of the box

4) WILL UFLAND (NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS C) – Received the ball on the half-way line, ran at the Catford backline, beat two players on his way into the box and faced with a one-on-one, cooly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper for his hat-trick

A hat-trick from Gideon Barnett, coupled with Adam Arnold’s strike, ensured there was no upset for the Premier Division side.

Neasden manager Stirling Kay told jewishnews.co.uk: “If this was a boxing match the referee would have called the game of at half-time, yet we went in 1-0 down thanks to a fantastic chip from 40 yards out. We must have had 10 clear-cut chances and wasted every one with their goalkeeper not having to make a serious save in the first half.

“The second half stated the same  as we opened them up at will, yet Stolerman brought out two more superb saves from Steve Murad. But it was only a matter of time and the ever young Barnett scored with a superb strike, before adding two more. He could have had 10 or more. I was very pleased the way we didn’t panic when behind, and continued to get the ball down and create chance after chance, this eventually allowing us to win the game.

“We have finished the year on a high, we are now in the quarter-finals of both the Morrison and Anekstein, and have climbed off the foot of the table to give us a very good chance of avoiding relegation. And with Sam franks and Dan Orgel coming coming back from injury in January, we are very much looking forward to the second half of the season.”

Adam Stolerman had put the home side ahead.

NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A 5 FC TEAM A 0
Four goals from Matt Stock, along with Elliot Moslawy’s strike helped Rob Richman’s side to an emphatic win, which coupled with the goalless draw between Hendon & Redbridge, means they go into 2015 top of the pile.

Manager Rob Richman told jewishnews.co.uk: “We marked the end of the year with a really pleasing and convincing win against a decent and very competitive FC Team side. A stunning goal after 30 seconds from Elliott Moslawy set us on our way and despite a very spirited first half effort from FC Team we held strong and scored a crucial second through Stock just on the stroke of half time. The second half was very much the Matt Stock show as three classy finishes added an extra gloss to our performance and result. Full credit to FC team though they played their part in a really good game and were very unlucky to come up against two players in Stock and our goalkeeper Doffman in exceptional form.

“In a really good team performance these two produced outstanding individual performances. Matt Stock over the past month has hit a supreme rich vein of form. He has managed 10 goals in his last four appearances, including back to back hat-tricks, and I wouldn’t swap him for any other player in the league.

“At the other end of the pitch Jake Doffman was at his imperious best. I noticed our B team keeper David Simnock was commended by both sides for his efforts versus Redbridge and I would be surprised if Jake didn’t receive the same dual commendations. He made three saves that he had no right to make and the reason we didn’t concede was solely down to his brilliant performance.

“It is no surprise that both Jake and Matt are in the squad for Berlin next summer.

“All in all a really pleasing end to the year and we are excited for what already looks like a very important January.”

BRIXTON OLD BOYS 2 LOS BLANCOS 5
The Blancos boys moved into the top-four thanks to this win at bottom side Brixton.

Benjy Israel, Joel Kutner, Adam Hersh, Simon Moses and an own goal saw the visitors to the three points.

Saul Conway and Sacha Benfredj replying for the beaten hosts, with manager Alan Aaronson telling jewishnews.co.uk: “We matched them for the vast majority of the game and it could have gone either way. However, we switched off for 10 minutes in the second half and that’s we got punished. We had to substitute two players for injury including our goalkeeper and had a further three players carrying significant injuries during the entire game.”

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 3 NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS B 2
Redbridge moved to within a point of top spot as they inflicted a first defeat of the season on the leaders.

Scott Oldstein, Daniel Garfinkle and Nathan Sollosi all getting on the scoresheet for Jon Jacobs’ side.

Dan Grossman and Anthony Goodmaker replied for the Raiders, for whom manager Jonathan Adelman told jewishnews.co.uk: “I’d like to pay tribute to my players for an amazing 21 month unbeaten league run and as I said to Jon Jacobs, all unbeaten runs end and I’m pleased it went to a quality team in a great game played in the right spirit. 

“We’ll pick ourselves up in the New Year with the aim of winning our final five games.”

Team increased their lead at the top of the table to two points as they turned in this polished performance at Whetstone.

Richard Salmon scored two of the goals, with Richard Sternberg claiming the third.

Player-manager Mitch Young told jewishnews.co.uk: “An extremely important victory to end the year. Credit to Whetstone who are a good young side and certainly gave us a scare in the first half as we did not turn up for the first half hour, but when we settled down we we scored our goals and whetstone struggled to break us down. Overall we deserved the win and are looking forward to the remaining five games. It has been an excellent month and an excellent way to finish.”

Joint-Whetstone manager Clive Nathan told jewishnews.co.uk: “The JFS ski trip played havoc with our squad and we had nine players unavailable. Even so we are disappointed not to have got something from the game. We had numerous chances and if we had taken any of them it would have been a different game. Once again I am proud of all our young players. They play the game the right way and enjoy every match. David Clements in only his second game of the season was outstanding at centre back.

“All credit to FC Team B. They are a good team and, like us, don’t give the referee any problems. It’s onto 2015 and the final games for AC Whetstone. I am getting quite emotional thinking about it.

CATFORD & BROMLEY 2 NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS C 5
Norstar moved up three places in the table – including leapfrogging the Cats – as their fine recent run of form continued.

Will Ufland helped himself to a hat-trick, with Josh Bloom and Alex Goodman saw them to the win, with manager Zack Gothelf telling jewishnews.co.uk: “Our third win in four games has left them in a much more comfortable and realistic position of fifth as we head into the new year. The team spirit amongst our squad is great at the moment. Everyone is now playing for the team and for each other and this desire and motivation has been well reflect on the pitch.”

Jonny Lee and Zack McLeod scored for the Cats, with captain Adam Luria telling jewishnews.co.uk: “No idea how we lost. We were rubbish in the first half. We played the second half almost entirely in their penalty area without managing to score and they got a goal on the break.

“We were down to the bare bones and only Simon Wolfson as stand in keeper and Josh Krewne at right back really did themselves any sort of justice”.

L’EQUIPE 3 AC MILL HILL 3
A hat-trick from Andy Smith saw bottom side L’Equipe earn a deserved point against fellow strugglers Mill Hill.

Manager Josh Lewis told jewishnews.co.uk: “It was end-to-end football,  a well-fought contest with both teams putting in some tough tackles.

“I felt we dominated the first 45 minutes and we were disappointed to go in at half-time only 2-1 up, Andy smith scoring two brilliant first half goals.

“We started the second half quickly, although they got back into it with a great 30 yard goal. They then went down to ten men, we kept fighting and another great team was finished off by Andy to put us 3-2 up with 15 minutes left. But a lapse in concentration at the back gifted them the equaliser. We had a couple more chances to win the game but couldn’t finish it.

“We felt we should’ve won the three points, but we’ll take the positives out of it and it’s a good way to finish 2014 and end our recent poor form.”

Mill Hill manager Daniel Beresford told jewishnews.co.uk: “Having nine players out I  thought we were very lucky to get anything out the game.

“Credit to L’Equipe, they came with a game plan and with two very handy strikers nearly played in there favour. They went one up, but we then equalised through a smart pass from Ben Zloof, which saw Jonny Kaye stroke the ball home.

“At half-time we managed to regroup and with a goal of the season contender, let alone the week, from Elliott  Bloom. We were then reduced to ten men when one of their defenders lunged on Joe Levy, who reacted by pushed the guy, was it a red card, I don’t think so but I wasn’t the referee. We then fell behind, but once more our drive and commitment saw a Ben Zloof volley fly back off the bar straight to Darren Bloom to knock it home.

“On a horrible pitch with alot of players missing we dug deep and came away with a point when it looked like we would get nothing so credit to my boys for digging deep and we’ll played L’Equipe was an entertaining game.”

KING CROWN 1 FAITHFOLD B 2
Faithfold B thrust themselves right back into the title chase as they inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Crown.

Jonny Haik and Daniel Gordon scored for Rob Shooman’s side, who told jewishnews.co.uk: “We were by far the more dominant team from start to finish. By half-time we were only 1-0 up , should have been at least three, I think our goalkeeper only touched the ball four or five times and that was only to collect it from hopeful long balls over the top from them.

“Second half started where we left off, but we conceded a penalty, from which they scored. Apart from a very unsavoury incident from which their player was sent-off and an excellent save from our excellent goalkeeper, we were never really troubled and scored a very deserved winner near the end.

“I’m very proud of my boys, they always rise to the occasion and that defeat last week may possibly just done us some good.”

LONDON ROVERS 6 TEMPLE FORTUNE 0
Rovers put in another scintillating display to ensure they go into the New Year top of the table.

Parys Hammond, Josh Bharier, Yisroel Lewis, Akiva Zneimer, Dan Ezra and Avi Markeweicz all finding the back of the net.

Manager Jeremy Brown told jewishnews.co.uk: “We’ve definitely played better this season but it’s good to see that even when we are not at our best, we can still come away with a good result. We were never really in danger and we created a lot of chances but our finishing wasn’t what it could be. Even so I’m very pleased with the result.”

Fortune player-manager Jonathan Cohen told jewishnews.co.uk: “With a squad seriously lacking in numbers this week it was always going to be difficult.  They were the deserving winners on the day.  We will give them a better game next time around, I’m sure of that!”
