NASHIK: Nashik tops the chart of successful traps by the Anti corruption Bureau (ACB) in Maharashtra. Till December 19 this year, the Nashik ACB shared the position with Pune ACB at 207 cases .
Close on the heels of Nashik and Pune was Aurangabad (152) and followed by Nagpur (149), Thane (146), Nanded (134), Amravati (130) and Mumbai (81).
Senior officials of ACB Nashik range attributed the rise in the number of succesful traps to the various concepts implemented by the director general of the anti-corruption department, Praveen Dixit.

Superintendent of Nashik, ACB, Pravin Pawar said, “It is not just Nashik where the traps of the ACB have increased. The phenomenon can be seen across the state. We are constantly guided by our head office in Mumbai. Various in-house training programmes have been conducted for the ACB officials.”
Pawar added that while the ACB officers were taking immense efforts to be in touch with the complainants, they have also been visiting the rural areas to meet villagers to check if they were facing problems in government departments and if someone was seeking money from them for any work.
The 1064 helpline, a page on a social networking site and the email account of the ACB have become popular among the people and the access to the ACB has become much easy, officials said.

In 2013, the ACB Nashik Range had made 83 successful traps, while in 2012 there were only 64 traps. Compared to the figures last year, the figures of successful traps this year has increased two-and-a-half times.
