Running back Frank Gore addressed his future with the San Francisco 49ers in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.

Gore, 31, is in the final year of his four-year contract.

Over 14 games this season, he has rushed for 804 yards and three touchdowns. Gore has recorded 3.9 yards per carry and 14.6 attempts per game, both career lows.

The 49ers should have adequate depth at running back next season. They selected Carlos Hyde in the second round of this year's draft and Kendall Hunter is expected to return from an ACL tear.

From the Chronicle:

Have you talked to the 49ers this year about coming back in 2015?

FG: My goal was to come in and show I still can do it. That’s my agent’s job. If they want to bring me back, they will. They’ll come to me in a respectful way. We’ll sit down, see what they want me to do. See what my role is and if I like it, I’ll sign. If I don’t, I’ll try to see what other teams think of me.

Gore suffered a concussion last week against the Seahawks but reportedly will play in Saturday night's game against the Chargers in San Francisco.

Hyde, meanwhile, has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

The 49ers are 7-7 and in third place in the NFC West.
