Chances were at a premium in a poor first half with neither side able to create many genuine opportunities.
The Pars, playing their first game since manager Jim Jefferies resigned, came close when Joshua Falkingham was denied by David Mitchell.
McKeown settled the match by firing into the roof of the net following a corner.
