Mumbai: Advocate Meenakshi Jaiswal, wife of a magistrate in Navi Mumbai, was found dead early this morning with her neck slit and two fingers cut.

Police said, the murder probably took place between 11 pm and 12 midnight.

Police said, four to five burglars entered her apartment in Celebration building in Sector 17, Kharghar and carried out the murder.

The lady's mangalsutra was ripped out, her neck slit, and two of her fingers were cut in order to prise out gold rings.

The burglars then ransacked her apartment.

Police have arrested two suspects in this connection. Meenakshi Jaiswal was the president of local Women and Child Rights Commission.

Nobody was present in the apartment at the time of murder.
