The countdown to the New Year has begun and everyone is in a holiday mood. This is the time when people around the world travel, party and celebrate with generous helpings of food and drinks. According to travel site TripAdvisor, Dubai has emerged as the most preferred New Year destination for Delhities, replacing last year’s Goa. Manali also moved up to No 4 from last years’ No 8 position.
“As a large number of Indians get ready to pack their bags and travel to destinations known as well as offbeat, TripAdvisor brings you the definitive list of the places that they will be travelling to… While Goa remains a favourite, this year’s list includes a healthy dose of international destinations, indicating the importance being attached to the occasion. What is most interesting to see is how the accommodation preferences have evolved over years,” said Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor.
“41% travelers prefer to stay in hotels of different kinds whereas 23% prefer Bed & Breakfast Inns for their new year holiday. Also, the experimentative side of Indian travellers is clearly emerging with a significant share 36% opting for ‘alternate’ accommodations such as campgrounds, condos, vacation rentals, hostels, villas and even temple lodgings etc. We wish Indian travellers many more adventures in 2015,” said Ganju.
