The second season of Jabong Online Fashion Week (JOFW) was announced on a sunny afternoon on Friday with Bengali beauty Sushmita Sen coming to the Capital to kick-start the event. Wearing a pink Michael Kors dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, the actress looked pretty despite the chilly winter weather. She admitted: "It seems as though I'm not used to the Delhi winter anymore, but it's great to be back!"

The press conference launched the selection process for a new pool of fashion designers, photographers, models, make-up and hair artists that were hand-picked from 1,300 entries for the platform. From the age group of 18-35 years, 50 finalists will showcase their creations at a grand fashion week to be held in February 2015. The jury comprised industry stalwarts, including Nandini Bhalla, editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, supermodel Noyonika Chatterjee, designer Varun Bahl, choreographer Lubna Adams, professional make-up and grooming coach Vidya Tikari and photographer Colston Julian.

Talking to Mail Today, Sushmita said: "There is no dearth of talent in our country and this platform is perfect for recognising the creativity from not only metropolitan cities, but from Tier-II and Tier-III cities as well. Talent from here needs to be appreciated the worldwide."

Asked about her experience on completing 20 years of being crowned Miss Universe back in 1994, Sush joked: "It feels like a jolt from within when reminded of how I won the title 20 years ago! But to be honest, where these years have flown by is anyone's guess, because I've been so busy living my life and enjoying every moment of it." Commenting on the launch, Jabong.com's MD and founder Praveen Sinha said: "With Jabong Online Fashion Week, we aspire to represent the fashion industry and provide the fraternity an online platform to grow. JOFW is aimed at gathering the best of talent and fashion aficionados, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent with the guidance of stalwarts of the industry."
