Tripura CM slams Modi govt for ‘anti-poor’ policies
Agartala: Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar accused the Narendra Modi government of ‘favouring the rich’, while addressing a party rally at Chailengta in Longtarai Valley of Dhalai district on Friday.
Sarkar said the Modi government at the Centre was initiating plans which are pro-rich and anti-poor. “We can’t differentiate the UPA and the NDA as far as the common people are concerned. The Modi government has waived tax worth Rs 5 lakh crore to safeguard the interests of corporates,” he said.
There has been no reduction in the prices of essential items and edibles on the retail market, the chief minister alleged and said the Modi government’s latest decision regarding a reduction in the MGNREGA scheme reflects its anti-poor stand.
