An Empty Heart is a Loaded Gun #peshawar
Bobby Pawar, Director, Chief Creative Officer – South Asia, Publicis Worldwide, shaken by the Peshawar attack on schoolchildren, wrote a touching poem. As he says, “The Peshawar attack shook me to my core. When my tears dried some words flowed”

In the cold mountains, hope comes to die.
Here sleep the children to hate's lullaby.
Wisdom wears a beard on the chin of lies.
Says God will give you virgins if you sacrifice.
Armed with a prayer to a dark sun.
An empty heart is a loaded gun.
Mothers bury their sons before they are dead.
Veiled wails fall silent as a terrorist is bred.
Fathers sit in councils and boast to the rest.
'Doesn't my boy look fine in a suicide bomber's vest?'
He's coming down the mountain, you better run.
An empty heart is a loaded gun.
Down in the foothills a school bell tolls.
And innocent souls answer the rolls.
There before the first book is opened and read,
the pages are stained by a bullet to the head.
A fire cares not about what it does burn.
An empty heart is a loaded gun.
Facebook is outraged. Twitter is ablaze.
Hate fills up, when we empty our rage.
But a knife can't heal a wound that it cruelly makes.
While love is a baker, and peace the bread it bakes.
Keep these words close, my daughter and son.
An empty heart is a loaded gun.
