This surprise Oscar-list entry, when released, was panned by critics in India. Allegedly based on Rahul Gandhi's life, Youngistaan had Jackky Bhagnani playing a young PM's son who takes over his father's position after his death.

Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, the film also featured Neha Sharma, Farooq Sheikh and Kayoze Irani in important roles and was released on March 28, 2014.

Talking to a leading daily, Vashu Bhagnani said, "I am extremely happy that the film could make an official entry to the Oscars. I hope it sees success in the near future and gets a nomination as well. Fingers crossed!" While Vashu was rejoicing the news, Twitter was abuzz with jokes and memes on his dear son Jackky.
