Speed post delivered after 10 months!

An urgent government letter dated January 28 reaches the Manipur's Ukhrul district Collector on December 2

December 19, 2014 08:21 am | Updated 08:21 am IST - IMPHAL:

It takes hardly three hours for an air passenger travelling from Delhi to landfall in Imphal. However it took 10-long months for a Speed Post letter to reach Imphal despite the fact that the letter should have been delivered within 48 hours. All speed post letters are airlifted.

The Director (NE), Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, had sent an urgent official letter to the Collector, Ukhrul district, Manipur on January 28, 2014. However it was only on December 2 that the partly discoloured envelope was delivered to the office in Ukhrul district hardly 3 hours' drive from Imphal.

Postal officials refuse to make any comment on the issue.
