The Bombay High Court, on Thursday, while hearing a petition filed by a resident of Kala Ghoda area concerning the inconvenience caused to people living in the area on account of the festival, asked that the matter be resolved amicably.
A meeting chaired by the Mumbai collector will be held on Saturday along with the petitioner, organisers and director of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum (CSMVS), to help resolve this matter.
“Find out from the director of CSMVS, if it is possible to give some space for organising the festival.
Other issues shall also be taken into consideration so that an amicable solution can be found,’’ said Justices V M Kanade and Revati Mohite Dere in an oral observation.
With the petitioner’s lawyer raising security concerns, the Judges observed: “The festival should not come to a standstill due to terror threats.”
