Ashim Ahluwalia, who garnered critical acclaim for directing the film Miss Lovely on Mumbai’s C-grade film industry, is all set to make yet another bold movie.
Authored by Gay Rights Activist, R. Raj Rao, the drama based on the novel, which is set in Mumbai, is a love story between two men. The novel also touches upon sensitive issues like caste and class, and what unfolds when one of them is compelled to make a choice which will alter their life.
As Ahluwalia comments, “Yes, we are making the film, but it is still being developed. We are still finalising the script so you can say it’s a loose adaptation of the novel. It may also end up a little different from the original story.” The upcoming film will have a Hindi and English version. Its cast and shooting dates haven’t been finalised yet.
