PATNA: The Pataliputra police station on Thursday lodged a ‘missing case’ after three teenage girls went missing from their homes in Indrapuri on Wednesday morning.
The girls include Tannu, daughter of Anil Thakur; Sapna, daughter of Shankar Prasad and Rani, daughter of Lalan Ram. They are said to be childhood friends, Pataliputra police station’s SHO R K Dubey said and added the complaint was filed by Tannu’s elder sister Annu.
The girls do not belong to financially well-off families and their fathers are small-scale businessmen who reside in the same locality, the SHO said. “We don’t have any major clue so far, but we suspect they left their houses on their own,” he said.
Police during investigation found the girls left with small amounts of Rs 1400, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively, which they stole from their houses. “We are not suspecting anyone else’s involvement so far for they were reportedly not involved in any affair,” Dubey said.
The incident comes close on the heels of a 13-year-old Nepali girl missing from Patna Junction earlier this week. She is also yet to be traced.
