The Sežana fire and emergency service institution (ZGRS) is a professional fire brigade that performs preventive and operative work in the field of fire prevention and protection and carries out protection and rescue activities during natural disasters and other accidents. The rescue vehicle that they have been using for 21 years is outdated and no longer suitable for interventions in transport accidents and accidents involving dangerous substances. The financial resources that Triglav Zavarovalnica allocated to the ZGRS within the framework of its project For a better tomorrow will help in the purchase of a new and smaller rescue vehicle that will replace the old one. The ZGRS will therefore be more effective in carrying out its activities in the 640 km2 area of the Divača, Hrpelje-Kozina, Komen and Sežana municipalities.

More effective interventions

Zavarovalnica Triglav symbolically handed over the resources to Blaž Turk, commander of the ZGRS, who thanked the insurance company for its help. "We will use the resources to buy and modify a new but smaller truck. Our unit will use it to perform interventions in the case of accidents involving dangerous substances, natural disasters and other accidents as well as to transport equipment. This will allow us to perform better and more effective interventions while ensuring greater safety for residents in threatened areas and for those involved in accidents. "

"The largest Slovenian insurance company wants to contribute positive changes in the community. We feel especially responsible for the local communities where we do business. We are aware of the importance of the measures that allow greater safety and consequently a greater quality of life. Our contribution to the rescue vehicle purchase takes us one step closer to a safer future for the people in this part of Slovenia," said Jože Celin, manager of the Postojna regional unit of Zavarovalnica Triglav, at the ceremony.

For a Better Tomorrow in All of Slovenia

Zavarovalnica Triglav has strengthened the traditional cooperation with the local environment at the end of the year. A part of the financial means that are usually spent on New Year's business gifts will this year be given to various local organizations throughout Slovenia in order to support as many as 22 different projects - from projects in the fields of fire fighting, health prevention, civil protection, flood and traffic safety as well as child development and child safety. The New Year's preventive action with which Triglav wishes to raise awareness, along with reducing danger and potential accidents, is yet again proof of the responsibility the Slovenia's largest insurance company has towards society and nature.
