Melanie Lynskey, the long suffering neighbor to the 'Two and a Half Men' crew returns tonight.

If you like, you can go from now until Christmas watching nothing but holiday specials — including this 90-minute concert from Madison Square Garden. Scheduled performers include Sam Smith, Pharrell Williams, Jessie J., Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande.

Mom
CBS, 8:30 ET/PT

Mom continues a string of strong outings with an episode that sends Christy, Bonnie and Violet to therapy, where a family secret is revealed that promises to have repercussions for episodes to come. Mom is not a tidy show, and this is not a tidy episode: tonal changes can be jarring, and jokes sometimes seem to come out of nowhere, though the number that land is impressive. But unlike so many sitcoms today, it's about something — there are real-life subjects being discussed and honest emotions being explored. It's a messy process, but so is life, and so far the parts that seem true to life are carrying the day.

Two and a Half Men
CBS, 9 ET/PT

And then there's Men, which severed all connection with real life years ago. Still, for those who retain a lingering affection for the show's better days, one of the stars who helped make it better returns: Melanie Lynskey as Rose. The character may have been absurd, but she brought a sweetness to Men that has virtually disappeared in her absence.
