People were horrible in 2014. They were mean and selfish and did terrible things.
But it's fine, because they also did some fairly impressive stunts and uploaded them to YouTube.
Okay, maybe we sound a bit cynical - as this year's instalment of the annual 'People Are Awesome' video shows there really were some amazing things captured on video in the last 12 months.
But one can't help but wonder if an equivalent video of the other, less visually awesome things good people did in 2014 (taking care of unwell relatives? fighting prejudice in small but vital ways in their communities?) would get as many hits as these dudes making difficult basketball shots on the 40th try...
