Villarreal emphatically booked their spot in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey after a 3-0 victory over Cadiz lifted them to a 5-1 aggregate triumph.

Lower league Cadiz would still have had hope of upsetting the odds when they went into half-time of their second leg encounter goalless.

But that was snuffed out by Manuel Trigueros' 56th-minute strike while Gerard Moreno's late brace put an impressive stamp on proceedings.

It was a fifth consecutive win in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, who were joined in the next round by Getafe, Granada, Real Socidedad, Espanyol and Levante.

Getafe followed up their impressive 3-0 first-leg win over Primera Division rivals Eibar with a 2-1 success at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua.

Carlos Vigaray's strike midway through the first half was followed up by Diego Castro's 34th-minute effort which put Getafe 5-0 ahead in the tie.

While second-half substitute Federico Piovaccari pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half, it was of little consolation for the hosts.

Diego Mainz's second-half goal sent 10-man Granada through at the expense of Cordoba, who were beaten 2-1 on aggregate.

Granada held a 1-0 lead from the first leg and although Florin Andone's fifth-minute strike levelled the tie, Mainz's effort on the hour was decisive, with Granada holding on despite Javi Marquez's 67th-minute sending off.

Sociedad progressed after a 2-0 victory over Real Oviedo.

Following a goalless draw in the first leg, David Moyes' men needed a double from Alfred Finnbogason, who scored in the 28th and 61st minutes, to seal their spot in the fifth round.

Jairo Rivero's 65th-minute strike - six minutes after coming off the bench - was the only goal on the night as Espanyol sealed a 3-0 aggregate victory over Alaves.

Levante were held to a goalless draw at home to Albacete but progressed on away goals following a 1-1 result in the first encounter.
