Speeding truck knocks man dead

NAGPUR: Hingna resident Kishore Kanhere, 45, was knocked dead by a speeding truck when he was going from Waddhamna to Nagalwadi on Tuesday evening. Kanhere was going to his home at Nagalwadi on bike. Kanhere suffered injuries to his head and died on the spot, said police. Wadi police have registered a case against the truck driver who fled with his vehicle after the accident.
Shopkeeper robbed of Rs1 lakh cash
Unidentified thieves stole Rs1 lakh cash from Sandesh Jain, 30, a resident of Jairam Square, near Mayo Hospital on Tuesday. The incident took place when Jain was carrying the cash to his home from his shop. The money was kept on the scooter’s foot rest. The miscreants decamped with the cash when Jain had stopped near the hospital after getting a itchy feeling on his neck. Jain reported the matter to Ganeshpeth police station.
Two held for assault over lewd remarks
Sakkardara police have arrested Shaikh Khan and Mohammad Shahrukh, both resident of Azad colony, for allegedly assaulting Shahrukh Shaikh at Bada Tajbagh area on Tuesday night. The incident took place after the arrested accused passed objectionable remarks against Shahrukh Shaikh’s cousin. Complainant Shaikh Khalil told cops that Shahrukh Shaikh was hit with rods by Khan and his friends after a heated argument.
Tailor dupes man of Rs3.62 lakh
Avinash Koche, a tailor from Binaki Mangalwari, has been booked for cheating after he failed to complete an order given by Rajendra Choudhari 51, a resident of Amravati, and also decamping with dress material worth Rs3.62 lakh. According to tehsil police, Koche is absconding. Choudhari said, he had given Koche order for 12 salwar suits and also gave him a sewing machine. tnn
