CHENNAI: In an attack on the ruling BJP at the Centre by AIADMK, the party's organ 'Namadhu MGR' carried a satirical piece on Wednesday targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and former party chief Bangaru Laxman. This comes a few days after a furore in Parliament over a question in the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam pertaining to the conviction of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa in the assets case.
The article said: "We also have plenty of mischievous question and answers' which should be included in the RRB exam paper." The first question: Which national party leader was caught on camera receiving a bribe? The options were N D Tiwari of Congress, Madhu Koda of Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha, BJP's Bangaru Laxman and Suna Swami (Subramanian Swamy). The answer was Laxman.
The second question alluded to an alleged fake encounter and the options were Devi Lal (Lok Dal), Suresh Kalmadi (Congress), Amit Shah (BJP) and Lalu Prasad (Janata Dal). Shah's name was ticked. The third question was to identify the leader who ordered surveillance on a young woman and the options were Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad, Narendra Modi and B S Yeddyurappa. Modi's name was ticked.
The RRB question which was found objectionable by the AIADMK read: "Who was the first serving chief minister of an Indian state who lost his/her post after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case?" It gave four options: Lalu Prasad, Jagannath Mishra, J Jayalalithaa and B S Yeddyurappa.
The AIADMK attack has come ahead of BJP president Amit Shah's scheduled first visit to Tamil Nadu on Saturday to galvanize the party cadres for the 2016 assembly polls. Senior BJP leader L Ganesan said: "AIADMK members raised the matter in Parliament and the concerned minister has ordered an inquiry. Let us await the report".
Last month, the war of words between BJP and AIADMK had got bitter with 'Namadhu MGR' taking potshots at state BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan.
