Chaos in identification of pension beneficiaries, says TDP MLC

Published - December 18, 2014 12:09 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

The MLC and TDP district president Arkala Narsa Reddy said that the government seemed to have lacked the grip on administration leading to chaos in the identification of genuine beneficiaries of social security pensions and their disbursement.

Addressing the gathering of differently-abled persons, widows and the elderly when they staged rasta roko for the early sanction of pensions before the Municipal Corporation Office here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said that pensioners were agonised to have learnt that their names were deleted from the list of eligible beneficiaries. He also lamented that almost half of the pensions were cut down by the TRS government.

The government had no clarity on its decisions as they were frequently being changed in the last few months, he said adding that it was not yet revealed what was the purpose of intensive household survey. It also failed to prioritise its programmes to implement them at the earliest, he said. Former Minister and TDP leader Mandava Venkateswar Rao was also present. The pensioners withdrew the agitation after a few minutes.
