Hitachi Solutions on the lookout for a firm in Asia-Pacific

Hitachi Solutions is looking to acquire a firm in the Asia-Pacific region by mid-2015. The acquisition will be in the Microsoft dynamics domain.

“We are already in discussions with 2-3 companies in the region. It will be a 500-member firm,” company President and Managing Director Ananth Subramanian said.

Hitachi Solutions is a partner of Microsoft dynamics (Microsoft’s line of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management (CRM) software applications).

Parent company Hitachi America set up the Indian arm 18 months ago to cater to the Asia-Pacific market. For the Hitachi group, the IT segment contributes 24 per cent with revenue of $23.7 billion.

Hitachi Solutions is one of the firms in the IT segment, and has revenues of $4 billion. Mr. Subramanian said the firm had so for made three acquisitions in the U.S., Europe and Canada, which had been its key markets. In Asia-Pacific, the key market includes Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Foray into new regions

The company is looking to make a foray into Australia and the Philippines in April.

Mr. Subramanian said the firm was on target to hit 500 headcount in India across its centres in Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.
