Don Bradman Cricket coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Melbourne, Australia-based developer Big Ant Studios has today announced that Don Bradman Cricket will be released on PS4 and Xbox One in February 2015.

Big Ant and publishing partner HES have again worked under license with the Bradman Foundation for the series' new-generation console debut.

“Following on from the critically acclaimed Don Bradman Cricket 14, we are proud to now bring the greatest cricket player of all time to the next generation of consoles,” said HES boss Sebastian Giompaolo. “I am excited by what Big Ant Studios have been able to produce, this is without doubt the best Cricket video game to date.”

Like Don Bradman Cricket 14 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, Don Bradman Cricket on PS4 and Xbox One will feature a complete career mode, the same excellent batting and bowling controls, a deep fielding system that allows us to slide to prevent boundaries, and nuanced ball physics that allow for realistic edges, movement off the pitch, and bat pad catches. It will also support Big Ant’s Cricket Academy, which allows us to create custom teams, players, tours, competitions, match types and even umpires. More than 100,000 community-created players and teams are ready to download and use in the game.

Don Bradman Cricket 14 was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in April this year. At the time it was an ambitious and enthusiastically-crafted sports sim let down by a few too many bugs and design quirks. Big Ant addressed many of the game’s core issues over the following months via several welcome patches and, by the time it was released on PC in July, Don Bradman Cricket 14 had been massaged into a truly great sports game and easily the most enjoyable and fully-featured cricket game available.
