Kaia Gerber had her first taste of modelling at just 10 years old, when she - somewhat controversially - posed for Versace's junior line Young Versace.

Her supermodel mum put a halt on her modelling pursuits shortly after, saying: "At this point, she's too young to pursue a career. There aren't even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl."

Now 13, Kaia has fired it up again, and she's every bit as super as her famous mother. She appears in the latest issue of Teen Vogue, looking the spitting image of brunette Cindy, one of the founding members of 'The Supers' of the Eighties. Crawford, 48, is now more open to the thought of her daughter following in her footsteps.

"I'm happy for her to be happy," she recently told the Evening Standard. "She's kind of chomping at the bit and the Teen Vogue piece seemed like an appropriate thing to do. I am very comfortable with the photographer, who is a woman I've worked with a lot and is a mother herself.

Crawford, who was studying chemical engineering at university when she decided to enter the modelling world, says she's comfortable that if Kaia does decide to pursue the posing world, she will be able to help her steer clear of the less savoury side of the industry.

"When people ask me about my daughter, I feel like I could guide her in the right direction because I was able to navigate it," she said. "You can, it is doable."

The veteran fashion face added that young models these days have a huge advantage over those of her generation - and it's all thanks to social media.

"These girls, even as they're just beginning, they're not as pigeonholed by how other people see them. Someone like Cara [Delevingne], the reason she is so cool is she gets to be who she is on social media and have that direct relationship with fans."

This wisdom has already rubbed off on Kaia, who is no stranger to the social media world; she and her 15 year-old brother Presley have their very own Instagram page dedicated to pictures of Kaia taken by Presley, a budding photographer. Kaia even wears some of her mum's old clothes for the DIY shoots. Looks like we may have just found a supermodel of the future.
