From Dec. 14 to 20, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will be involved in a visit to Kazakhstan, attend the Prime Minsiters' Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), go to visit Serbia, attend the Meeting of Heads of Government of Central and Eastern European countries and China, and travel to Thailand to attend the Summit of the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program.

Li Keqiang’s visit symbolizes China’s determination to push ahead with the "Silk Road Economic Belt", which connects China with the rest of the world. The "Silk Road Economic Belt" includes both an overland corridor and a sea corridor. In terms of the overland corridor, Li Keqiang’s visit matches the Silk Road with the SCO. This will give a new impetus to the SCO and start the process of security construction along the Silk Road . In terms of the sea corridor, the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program serves as a bridge linking this with the overland corridor. The cooperation program demonstrates China’s common, comprehensive, cooperative security concept and the sincerity of its diplomatic approach.

Europe is the terminus of the "Silk Road Economic Belt". The construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" will bring opportunities for cooperation between China and Europe, and enable China and Europe to build a more comprehensive, balanced and sustainable international order.
