Four dacoits armed with a sickle broke into a bungalow in Dahanu, tied the owner up and looted him of a 32-bore pistol and 70 rounds, 17 rounds of different bores, as well as Rs 10,000 cash.
Gholvad police identified the robbery victim as SD Patel, 38.
"Patel was inside his bungalow, which is located inside a wadi, when four persons sneaked into it threatened him with a sickle, and tied his hands and legs with a towel. They fled with the rounds of bullets and cash," said a Gholvad police official.
"We have registered a case under section 392 (robbery), 452 (house trespass for preparation of hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal code and are investigating further," said the official.
