JAMMU, Dec 16: A man committed suicide allegedly by consuming some poisonous substance at Maalpur near Sua No 1 on Jammu-Akhnoor Road while a housewife made an abortive attempt on its life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Talab Tillo area of Jammu.
According to police sources, Inderjeet Kumar (26-27 yrs) son of Isheshwar Sadha, a resident of Bukhaatri, district Araria in Bihar (at present Maalpur) was found lying unconscious in his temporary residence at Maalpur. A suicide note was also found from the spot, they said.
The unconscious Inderjeet was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by police, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kanachak police station and further investigations are on.
In another incident, a housewife identified as Priya wife of Neeraaj Badyal, resident of Talab Tillo allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her in-laws’ resident at Talab Tillo following which she was immediately shifted to GMCH, Jammu, where she was unfit for giving any statement till the last reports came in.
The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
