Free wi-fi service may start at Ahmedabad railway station on trial basis this week, read how to use it

While inaugurating free Wi-Fi facility for public at New Delhi railway station, union Railway Minister on 4 December had made an announcement that the Ahmedabad railway station will get wi-fi facility on trial basis by the end of this month.

Accordingly, the wi-fi devices have been now installed at Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad by Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd company, which is under the MTS brand.

Around 50 access points(devises) are installed at a distance of 50 meters from each others. The devices, are undergoing test by the Railway department at present.

Over 20,000 passengers visit Ahmedabad railway station daily. They will be able to surf the net through the free wi-fi service one it is launched on trial basis, possibly by end of this week itself.

A passenger will need to enter in wi-fi area, keep the wi-fi option in mobile/laptop on and connect to the wi-fi service. He/she will need to type his/her mobile number and password in a window opened on mobile/laptop screen. The password will be sent to his/her mobile number. Once he enter it, he/she can log on to the internet and use wi-fi.

After the trial service run,the Railway administration will take decision on formal launching of service.
