Valentino unveils NYC-dedicated couture collection

The Milanese high-end fashion house Valentino’s highly anticipated, New York City-dedicated, exclusive haute couture collection offers creations inspired from the brand’s widely celebrated archived collections designed during the early 1960s era.

Created under the guidance of the joint creative duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the 47-piece range has been designed in the honour of the brand’s recently unveiled Fifth Avenue flagship store in the American city.

Celebrating the eponymous brand founder’s 1962 Sala Bianca collection showed in Florence and 1968 Sfilata Bianca show in Rome, the line features sand toned jackets, golden beaded gowns, tunics paired with skinny pants, sheer tulle blouses and leather patch worked miniskirts.

Also an array of lightweight chiffon, lace and plissé organza made dresses have formed a part of the specially tailored capsule collection, primarily based on a palette of white along with some neutral hues.

After the NYC-dedicated collection, the brand will again join the forthcoming Paris haute couture week calendar in January, 2015 to showcase its latest official haute couture offering.

Founded in 1959 by the namesake designer Valentino Garavani, Valentino specializes in clothing and lifestyle products.

The Paris Haute Couture Week is slated to take place from January 25th to 30th, 2015. (PB)
