Ahmedabad colleges’ coolest USPs

NID; USP: Chungi NID has a number of unique things to its credit, including the Monsoon Fiesta – an internal fest with various competitions including dance, nautanki, promos, installation and poster war. A number of smaller, more frequent events like open mic nights where anyone can come up and sing or play, and film screenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays are part of the campus activity.The USP of this campus feel NIDians is a game called Chungi. Aarushi Jain, activity coordinator at NID says, “Chungi is a game of interlocked rubberbands invented by NIDians and best enjoyed at the Chai Gate with a cup of Lalu’s chai.”
CEPT; USP: Unique pedagogy The architectural institute does come with a unique pedagogy. CEPT alumnus Dimple Ranpara says, “Life here is full of boundless opportunities, be it helping the city’s transport system or clay modeling. It is this extensive multi-disciplinary pedagogy that moulds CEPT students into dynamic all-rounders.”
NIFT; USP: Fashion forward and bond between students One of the top fashion institutes of the state would of course boast of fashionable students. NIFT students take pride in being fash forward and amongst the best in the city. Student Agreya Gandhi says, “The college is full of fashion divas, unlike other colleges. Also, the senior-junior bond here is unique. The seniors were very welcoming when I started my graduation and I was pleasantly amazed.”
Shanti Business School; USP: Balance of academics and cultural activities Every college has its own cultural festival and sports day. But students at SBS, who come from various part of the country, get a great concoction of cultural activities with their academics. Student Carl Saldanha says, “The best thing about SBS is the ‘never say die’ attitude that gets inculcated into us through a perfect balance of academic rigour and other activities. The academic pressures are broken through a lot of games on our lush green campus or crazy dance parties. Our faculties inspire us to do our best all the time, thanks to which our students emerge as a winners in top competitions.”
LJ Institute of Management; USP: Garba nights LJ students take pride in the number of cultural and academic activities they have throughout the year. The one event students look forward to annually is the two-day garba celebrations organized by the college. Navratri being a festival which Amdavadis wait for all through the year, it comes as no surprise that the LJites simply love their garba nights!
INIFD; USP: Rooftop activity area Apart from the classes and digitized work studios, there is one thing all INIFDians love is their rooftop activity zone. A big, open space – is where all the campus events are held. Students also frequent this area to give their thoughts some fresh air and ponder over designs!
LD Arts College; USP: Special courses The only college in the city to offer some pretty interesting degrees, LD Arts is known to give students an option of BA with advertising and marketing, or a BA with landscaping and more such diverse courses. For students who want that extra edge with a bachelor’s degree, this college provides the best options.
