Just a bathroom singer, not competing with Alia, Shraddha: Sonakshi

Sonakshi Sinha has joined the league of Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor by recording a song with International singer Imran Khan in her upcoming film Tevar.

Self-confessed bathroom singer Sonakshi was surprised when Imran asked her to give vocal to the song Let's Celebrate. However,the actress was ready to wield the microphone within just four hours of practice.

Talking about her experience to a leading daily, Sonakshi said, "I'm not a trained singer. So, Imran would croon his lines first, and I'd follow. He told me to copy him exactly, and I was a really devoted student."

Though not professionally trained, Sonakshi is not worried about comparisons with her contemporaries Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor who have crooned for their films.

"Both Shraddha and Alia have sung really well, but I'm not competing with them. I've always loved singing but no filmmaker ever asked me to sing. For me, this song is just a one-off experience, I don't intend to sing in all my films. We have great singers like Shreya Ghoshal, I'll never be able to match her beautiful voice. I'm just a kid in front of her," she said.

Earlier this year, the actress had crooned a few lines for the animated macaw Jewel in the Rio sequel.
