If you were one of the Bond purists appalled by the fact 007 reached for a Heineken rather than a vodka martini in Skyfall, take heart at the latest sponsorship announcement.

Luxury vodka brand Belvedere has signed on the dotted line for the upcoming 24th Bond film, Spectre so it looks like we might finally have Daniel Craig utter that infamous line, "shaken, not stirred".

The phrase was first seen on screen in Goldfinger in 1964 when Sean Connery ordered himself a drink.  Roger Moore also drank martinis although he never ordered himself one.

It may look like Bond drinks a martini from the snapshot above in Casino Royale, but it's actually The Vesper, a drink he invented himself and named after Bond Girl Vesper Lynd.

“Three measurements of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half-a-measure of Kina Lillet, shake it very well until it’s ice cold, then add a large, thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?” he says.

Whilst the Heineken deal cost an estimated £28m, Belvedere has not released figures.  However, brand president Charles Gibb it's the "largest global partnership" they have ever done.

Aston Martin recently debuted a new car for Spectre, the Aston Martin DB10.
