Hockey team to be accorded warm welcome

LAHORE - Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has planned historic welcome for the national hockey team at the Wahga border today (Tuesday) and made a passionate appeal to the people to receive the boys who brought laurels for the country. PHF president Akhtar Rasool Ch, secretary Rana Mujahid Ali and a large number of former Olympians will receive the team at Wahga border at 11:30am. Mujahid said Pakistani boys reached the final of the Champions Trophy after a long gap of 16 years which was a great achievement for a team deprived of international hockey. “Though the team has lost to Germany in the final, yet the boys are real as they beat Netherlands in the quarterfinals and India in the semifinals on their home ground. I invite every Pakistani to accord warm welcome to the silver medalists.
